Indication
Treatment of vertigo, dizziness, tinnitus (ringing in ears), and hearing loss associated with Ménière’s disease and other vestibular disorders.
Dosage
As directed by physician; typical adult dose is 16 mg once or twice daily; dose may be split or adjusted per severity; can be taken with or after meals to reduce gastric irritation.
Side Effects & Precautions
: Mild nausea, indigestion, headache, stomach pain, bloating; rarely allergic rash, facial swelling, very low blood pressure, or breathing difficulty—most reactions mild and self-limited.
Precautions: Avoid in pheochromocytoma, severe asthma, pregnancy/breastfeeding without doctor advice; caution in patients taking MAOIs, with peptic ulcer history, or severe hypotension.
